ACCA stands for the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. This organisation
provides a framework of qualifications that can lead to Chartered Accountancy. After
the skills module of the examinations, students are eligible for obtaining a BSc.
(Hons.) in Applied Accounting from the Oxford Brookes University, the UK.
CERTIFIED ACCOUNTING TECHNICIAN (CAT)
ACCA’s accounting technician qualification ensures basic knowledge in accounting
and prepares for the more demanding ACCA qualification. It contains courses relating
to cost accounts, financial accounts, management and information technology. After
qualifying first five papers of CAT the students can transfer to ACCA Knowledge
module and after qualifying Advanced Level they can transfer to Skills module of
ACCA. Accountants are required in most businesses. Personnel with knowledge and
understanding of financial systems are an essential element of any organization.
It is also important to have credentials of an international reputation so that
the person can be employed the world over. ACCA graduates work not only in accountancy
firms, but also they are business managers and they work in financial institutions.
In short they are embedded in all sorts of business organizations.
