THE UNIVERSITY OF LONDON EXTERNAL PROGRAMME
The University of London is a federation of colleges and institutes of varying sizes
and academic profiles enjoying international reputation for excellence. The External
Programme makes the degrees of University of London accessible to students around
the world. The colleges of the University of London are academically responsible
for the development of subjects and courses. This programme has been operating since
1858 and today it has approximately 40,000 registered students in over 150 countries,
with many new registrations every year. The standard of the degree awarded to students
that study at one of Colleges of the University of London and as an External student
is the same - the University is bound by its Statute to ensure that all candidates
are assessed to the same academic standard. The External Programme maintains its
high standards by directly involving academic staff at ‘Lead’ Colleges not only
in the development of study materials, but also writing the examination papers and
marking the scripts.
The University College of Islamabad has chosen this External Programme, because
of its international reputation, proven academic standards, institutional academic
support and variety of degrees that are in high demand and have a clear professional
orientation.
