Organization of Tourism & Hotem Management (OTHM) is an internationally recognized institution that offers hospitality qualifications in the UK and overseas. There are more than 40 centres in London offering tuitions for these courses. Students that qualify the Certificate and Diploma would be eligible to transfer to UK for the OTHM Higher Diploma, or into the second year of the Degree in Tourism and Hospitality of the London South Bank University.

Further, it is expected that students whilst doing the OTHM higher Diploma qualification in the UK, they would get the necessary work experience in local hotels.

University College of Islamabad has opted for a combination of lectures, discussion and in-class assignments. It is expected that students will read the recommended textbooks and practise questions as per course requirements. UCI will make available copies of the OTHM lecture notes prepared by OTHM. Each module will consist of 2 lectures of 1.5 hours per week.

COURSES STRUCTURE

Introductory Certificate

OTHM Introductory certificate course
Written project + computer based examination

Certificate

To successfully obtain the certificate the student has to qualify 4 modules:

   Introduction to travel, tourism and hospitality
   Introduction to the business environment
   Introduction to business communication and customer care
   Introduction to business and finance

Duration: one semester

Certificate will be taught for June and December examinations.

Diploma

To successfully obtain the diploma the student has to qualify 6 modules

   Tourism marketing and management
   Hospitality marketing and management
   Human resources management
   Tourism and hospitality operations management
   Financial management and information systems
   Customer relations and the business environment
